“Most of the buyers were locals to South East Queensland but we did have people online from interstate and in fact the winning buyer of 29 Obrist Place Rochedale lives in Victoria and was bidding over the phone. We have a number of young families who want to get into this area, many are renting and want to get their kids into the school catchment,” said Grant Boman, pictured above.

“The big drivers for our market are the schools, access to the city, access to major roads and Mansfield State High School.

“I have seen first hand the transformation of the Mansfield State High School and the effect it has had on the area in terms of desirability of the suburb. It is no surprise that Mansfield and Wishart are some of the longest tenured suburbs in Queensland. I am sure the demand is only going to get stronger.”

“Mt Gravatt and the surrounding area tick a lot of boxes and all our sellers are ecstatic and really happy with the results too.

“Many in the crowd are also long term owners, those who are considering coming to market soon at our next event and they could overwhelmingly see how hard our team works together. Our agents all help each other and work the floor.”

Mr Boman, who has 22 years in real estate, has been auction-only for the last six years.

“I truly believe that if you run the auction process you will achieve the most for your clients. I see a lot of people who do auctions who get to auction day to do the negotiation but we run the process and get a flowing action by bringing so much competition to the auction.”

Ray White Mt Gravatt sales agent Andrew Boman last night sold this half built house at 115 Dunbar Street Mount Gravatt (pictured) to a local investor for $1,372,500.

There were 34 registered bidders on the property, and six active bidders, all mainly local builders and investors.

“I had more than 120 groups through during the campaign and we had more than 12,000 views on the portal. It was one of the top 10 most viewed properties on REA nationally in its first week.”

Major Australian home builder Porter Davis collapsed and went into administration last year and the sellers needed the house sold.

“It was a bittersweet sale for my sellers as their circumstances had changed, and we had a few interstate bidders online too.”

“This was always going to be a strong campaign, given the house was at lockup stage with a frame up and roof on. A local investor has bought the house and he will renovate and likely flip it.”

Ray White Mt Gravett hold weekly auctions in their office and their next big event will be at Mansfield State High School on Saturday July 6.

Ray White Mt Gravatt is a Gold Sponsor of the school for Community Spirit & Excellence in Learning.
