Demonstrating the strength of the property market, the event recorded an outstanding 60 per cent clearance rate, as six out of 10 properties worth almost $6.4 million, were sold under the hammer.

Agency director and auctioneer Dan Sowden (pictured above) said, "Despite the rise of interest rates, bidders were committed and well prepared to compete for some of the unique properties offered in the collection that featured a total of 244 buyer inspections conducted in the lead up."

Ray White Maroochydore’s Niall Molloy and Ari Whisson continued their streak of auction success. The sales agents have sold 15 from 15 under the hammer so far in 2024 with the latest sale of 31 Meridien Dr, Maroochydore (pictured below) for $1.86 million to local buyers.

The waterfront home generated strong interest from two determined buyers as the opening bid was placed at $1.7 million before quickly moving to $1.8 million before the auction was paused, the bid being raised under negotiation to $1.86 million before the property was called on the market and sold for $1.86 million.

“We observed significant local interest in this property, as well as a variety of Noosa, Peregian and interstate buyers,” Mr Molloy said.

“The waterfront view was a major attraction, but many were particularly drawn to the combination of house size, spaciousness, and the low-maintenance, apartment-like living.

“It was encouraging to see, even with many waterfront options available, the auction motivated buyers to act decisively and present their best offers. The couple who bought the home, had recently relocated from Brisbane and were in an apartment until they found their dream home.”

Another anticipated sale, was the last auction in the order of sale, 98 Bundilla Blvd, Mountain Creek which was positioned on an oversized parcel of 1,000 sqm in close proximity to Mooloolaba, making it a popular option for many.

The eventual buyers, a first home buyer couple (pictured below) who were overjoyed, snapped it up for $820,000 under strong competition.

Ray White Maroochydore's event not only showcased the robust demand for quality properties but also highlighted the agency's leading role in the Sunshine Coast's real estate sector.
