Jake McIntrye cements his position in the Tasmanian real estate scene
Jake McIntrye is not your average agent.
From counting number plates on his morning commute to sipping herbal tea for that auction-day voice, he left no stone unturned in his quest for excellence.
“It was the natural progression for me to become an auctioneer as it blends my love of performance and real estate,” he said.
It began with busking at the Salamanca Market from a young age, mainly showcasing circus and magic acts to Jake getting deeply involved in his school dance program.
He still proudly hosts the annual dance showcase, featuring more than 120 boys from age 4 to 18 years of age
“Alongside dance, I immersed myself in numerous theatre and musical theatre productions. Even after school, I continued to pursue my love for dance by teaching Cuban salsa at a local club,” he said.
His move into real estate officially began in 2018, but the industry had been a part of his life since childhood, thanks to his father's construction company.
While Jake’s relatively new to auctioneering, he’s applied himself to learning the craft over the past year.
“I've undergone intensive training for the past three months with all sorts of activity. Training with Harry Li who won the AUSTROs in 2015 and David Jackson who is an auction legend in Tasmania.
“Given that auctions represent a small fraction of sales in Tasmania, he’s had limited opportunities to call auctions thus far,” Jake said.
“However, I remain committed to seizing every chance to refine my skills and make a lasting impact in the industry.
“The best advice I can give is: Learning from an experienced professional, I encourage rookies to seek mentorship and guidance on their own journey.”
