Gold Coast Auction Experience achieves $57m in sales
Twenty six Ray White offices from across the Gold Coast came together yesterday for a mega auction experience, offering more than 100 properties for sale.
The Gold Coast Auction Experience, which was one of the largest seen in south-east Queensland, included properties from across the spectrum, with family homes, units and development blocks ranging from Coomera to Coolangatta going under the hammer.
Collectively, the 26 offices recorded more than $57 million in sales with 232 registered bidders either attending or tuning in online and 174 actively bidding. At the end of the day, the auction clearance rate stood at 73 per cent of the 101 lots. The auction extravaganza also attracted nearly 1,500 online viewers, all eager to take the pulse of the Gold Coast’s hot property market.
One of the top sales of the day was 1/13 Tabilban Street, Burleigh Heads (pictured above) which sold for $1.95 million under the hammer through Ray White Burleigh Group’s Troy Fitzgerald and Courtney Farrell. The auction with the highest number of bidders was 43/47 Teemangum Street, Currumbin which attracted 14 bidders and sold for $1.785 million through Shane Seghers of Ray White Tugun | Elanora.
Ray White Queensland chief auctioneer Gavin Croft (pictured above right) said the day’s success gave confidence to those looking to sell on the Gold Coast.
“Today was wonderful, to have the Gold Coast offices come together and work in such a collaborative fashion was most impressive,” Mr Croft said.
“Not only were the results amazing, in excess of 1,400 people joined us online and more than 350 people joined us over the course of the day.
“We had a real mix of buyers attending, with both apartments and family homes selling strongly.”
Ray White Queensland CEO Jason Andrew (pictured above) said it was a remarkable day.
“The days of the Gold Coast being a speculative little market are far gone,” Mr Andrew said.
“It’s now a market that is incredibly mature and robust. The depth of the buyer pool across all price segments demonstrates this and is significant. Our 26 offices from Coomera to Coolangatta came together to demonstrate that this change is indisputable and lasting.
“It was a pleasure to represent our sellers, obtaining them the prices that their homes deserved through both collaboration and competition creation.”
